plank backing for expedit

Happy Monday, Friends! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend.  We had a great weekend full of amazing food, family, a few diy projects, and mostly just enjoying each other's company.

Last week, I shared our Kitchen Reveal, and I appreciate everyone's wonderful comments here on the blog, on Facebook and over on Hometalk.  I can't tell you how much your kind words mean to me!

In the post, I shared our updated island, that features wide-plank beadboard.
We had some scrap pieces laying around after this project, and they were just enough to make some backing pieces for our Ikea Expedit that we use as our entertainment center.  If you remember before, we just had pieces of cardboard painted to match the wall behind the unit.  It was an okay solution for the time being, but we love the new look a whole lot better.
We also finished out the bottom row with two more baskets.
Our living room has the most wonderful feeling, now...
The best part about makeovers like this, is that they cost very little.  We spent $26 on two more baskets, but that's it.  Love using scraps from around the house.
