a surprise baby shower

Ok, so hear me out.  I've been waiting a few days to post pictures of the baby shower we threw for my aunt and uncle last weekend, hoping that I could finish painting the living room before I reveal to you the pictures from the shower that we had mid-painting. But, unfortunately, we are still in mid-painting today, and I really want to share these with you.  That's the life of a DIYer, I guess!

Remember this teaser picture I showed you last week?
If you guessed that we painted the woodwork a crisp white, and the walls a light grey, then...DING DING DING! You're Correct!!  I will have a full reveal of this room if I ever finish painting the walls, or put the baseboard back down (let alone paint it), but for now, this is where we're at.

My Aunt Sue is about 8 months pregnant at the moment, and probably the cutest lady in the world!  They are moving in a few weeks, and with the whirlwind year that they've had, there hasn't been much time for a baby shower.  My Mom and I got to talking last week, and that is so not okay!  So, we put together this little baby shower for them in about 4 days.
I made this bunting! Full tutorial here.

Baby Blocks I got from the Dollar Store!  Did you know that they have an amazing
selection of baby shower decor?
The Goods!

You like the baseboard in the window?  I haven't even painted that yet...oi.

Mom brought the balloons, and they were super cute.  They added just enough for my Aunt to be super surprised (and almost cry) when they walked in the front door.  It was so special.

Here is everyone after we finished eating! My brother showed up a little after this, but he was working that day as well.

The expecting parents!

After eating and chatting for awhile, they started in on the gifts.
This little set was my favorite!  Not only does the fleece jacket have buttons, which is adorable, but the giraffe is driving a truck! Awesome!

How beautiful is my aunt?!? Absolutely glowing!

We spent the rest of the afternoon just hanging out, eating cupcakes and taking the dogs over to the dog park.
My brother displaying just how great of a big cousin (5 times over) he will be!

This was the first time my parent's new pup, Beckett, met Bailey and Roxy.
They're best friends now.
It was such a fun day, and my aunt and uncle were so surprised!  They are going to be absolutely amazing parents and I am so excited to meet my new baby cousin in a few months!
